The benefits of rainwater harvesting…

If you’re on the lookout for ways to save money and help protect the environment, it’s well worth getting to grips with rainwater harvesting techniques. There are lots of rainwater systems available these days, and versions that harvest precipitation like this are among the most innovative.

Here at Alumasc we’re experts when it comes to these products and can help you achieve the results you’re after.

A growing need

The need to capture, store, filter and reuse rainwater is getting stronger. After all, water companies across the country are raising their prices, placing additional strain on business and household incomes. As the population grows, pressure on water supplies will increase further, meaning price rises are unlikely to reverse.

There is also a growing emphasis in the business world on environmental responsibility and to appeal to their target customers, many firms are having to pull out all the stops to show they’re doing their bit to help the planet.

If you’re after a harvesting system for a commercial building, our experts are on hand to assist. Our solutions channel rainwater from the roof into storage tanks, passing an integrated filter to remove large debris and leaves. Water then enters the tank via an inlet calmer, preventing disturbance to the fine sediment at the base of the tank.

Meanwhile, excess rainwater simply exits via an overflow, which has a one-way valve and rodent protection. Inside the tank, there are sensors and a submersible pump that takes water from the cleanest part of the tank on demand through a floating suction filter that supplies filtered rainwater to the break tank.

During periods of low rainfall, a WRAS compliant mains water top-up provides a failsafe supply, meaning there is never a shortage of water.

It’s worth noting that we also offer variations on this system and if you’d like more information, you can get in touch with our friendly and helpful team. Also, all our Stormsaver systems come with a 12-month warranty.

If you’re looking for rainwater harvesting systems for domestic use, you can check out the Monsoon® from Stormsaver. This is quick to fit and simple to maintain and use. You might also be pleased to note that it’s the most efficient and cost-effective domestic rainwater harvesting system available.

Using the system, it’s possible to reduce domestic water consumption by up to 50 per cent. If the tank should run empty during periods of heavy usage, the system automatically switches to the mains supply.

A great investment

Of course, to access either commercial or domestic rainwater recycling systems like this, you’ll need to spend some money. However, this should prove to be a great investment. You can cut your water bills, which could save you lots of cash in the long-term. Also, you can enjoy peace of mind that you’re benefiting the environment.
